For much of your life, you have probably struggled with stubborn hair. You have tried shaving, but the hair just grows back, sometimes even by the end of the day. You’ve used depilatory creams and burned your skin, and you’ve tweezed for hours at a time. You finally discovered laser hair removal, but you don’t understand why you need to go more than once.

Targeting Each Hair

Not all of your hairs grow at the same pace. For example, let’s say that you want laser hair removal for your chin. When you go for the first round of treatment, some of your chin chairs will be removed. However, you will have some that are not even visible at that time. Perhaps you removed them with a tweezer, or maybe they grow slower than the other ones. One round of laser hair removal treatment is not enough because you cannot guarantee that all of your hairs will be out at that time.

Removing Stubborn Hairs

If you have struggled with excessive facial or body hair, then you know how difficult those tough hairs are to remove. Although laser hair removal is designed to permanently eliminate the hair, that doesn’t mean it has the strength to get the most difficult of hairs all at one time. Making sure that you get rid of all the hairs is one of the reasons you need to go back for multiple treatments. One round of treatment is not always enough for those hairs that don’t want to go away.

Weakening the Hair Follicle

Maybe you have wondered why the hair removal process is so arduous when you try at-home methods, and one of the reasons is that these methods do not tend to weaken the hair follicle. They remove the hair at the surface, but it keeps growing beneath the skin. Since you know how persistently hairs can grow back, you likely have a sense of just how strong these hair follicles are. The goal of laser hair removal is to kill the hair follicle so that the hair cannot grow back. However, these follicles are strong. They withstood all of the shaving, tweezers, and creams you’ve used through the years, so you need to give laser hair removal its chance to work.

Covering a Large Surface Hair

Some people just want to have the few stray hairs in between their eyebrow removed; however, others are interested in major hair removal for their face or body. While laser hair removal does not have a reputation as an extremely painful process, it can sting and leave red marks. Taking all of that on in one sitting can be too much for your body. Returning for additional treatments is the smart move to make.
